The Tennessee General Assembly is committed to a high quality Voluntary Pre-K education program
The House of Representatives voted in support of HB148…5 – the Pre-K Quality Act. With the Senate’s affirmative vote last week, the provisions for high quality framework for TN-VPK will now become state law, following signature by Governor Bill Haslam, and go into effect this year. Thank you, State Representative Mark White and Senator Steve Dickerson for leading the charge for quality in voluntary pre-k across Tennessee! The changes you have authored send a resounding message that Tennessee is committed to high quality early education as the foundation for learning. Thanks to our supporters, including Memphis Tomorrow, Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, Public School Forum of East Tennessee, United Ways of Tennessee, Greater Memphis Chamber, Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police and People First Partnership for helping strengthen early education around the state.
